Day 2 of same gender marriage in San Francisco!

City Hall is besieged by media. The protesters will be here soon – last night there were hateful people there. I am SO happy to see couples of any sort allowed to legally be together – the arguments against same sex marriage are the same tired arguments that were used against inter-racial and inter-faith marriages.

 

The giddy happiness of these couples is a pleasure to witness. It’s putting a whole lot of positive energy out into the world, and I think we can use that.

Stanford support group starts now and runs through next year.
Portfolio:
4 school site entries
Include student work samples, Videotapes of classroom, and documentation as evidence
Describe and analyze practice through structured written commentaries
Assessment Center:
6 30 minute exercises
Focus on subject matter knowledge, age and content appropriate teaching strategies, across the full age range of certificate area

500 initial fee that goes towards the 2500 overall fee

The Stanford program is 10 sessions $200

You can resubmit anything that is scored less than a 2.75

Portfolio entry 1:
Student reading and writing samples (2 of each)
Up to 13 page analysis paper
Packet of student work as well as rubrics

Portfolio entry 2:
Instructional analysis: Whole group instruction
Evidence of whole group instruction
Video: 15 minute continuous and unedited video tape of a whole class discussion
Written commentary of no more than 11 pages
The accompanying instructional materials

Portfolio entry 3:
Same as 3, but you focus the video tape on two different groups of 3-6 students

Portfolio entry 4:
Can start now.
Description and analysis- 20 pages maximum
Documentation –up to 16 pages
Reflective summary- up to 2 pages

Catrgory 2:
Leacher as leader/collaborator at local, state, and/or National level
Go back multiple years- you want to show a pattern of professional growth and development

Teacher as learner
