Stanford support group starts now and runs through next year.
Portfolio:
4 school site entries
Include student work samples, Videotapes of classroom, and documentation as evidence
Describe and analyze practice through structured written commentaries
Assessment Center:
6 30 minute exercises
Focus on subject matter knowledge, age and content appropriate teaching strategies, across the full age range of certificate area

Fees:
65 application fee
2500
500 initial fee that goes towards the 2500 overall fee

They will cover 1250 of the fee

Timeline:
Apply now
FULL payment due by 1/31/2009
Assessment Center testing window: 7/1/08-6/23/09
Portfolio due by 3/31/09

Results received on or before 12/31/09

Describe, analyze, reflect

It is a 10 year certification
The renewal is a documentation of your professional accomplishments since certification.

The Stanford program is 10 sessions $200
$75 for Stanford Units- up to 10 quarter units
You can resubmit anything that is scored less than a 2.75
ELA:
Portfolio entry 1:
Student reading and writing samples (2 of each)
Up to 13 page analysis paper
Packet of student work as well as rubrics

Portfolio entry 2:
Instructional analysis: Whole group instruction
Evidence of whole group instruction
Video: 15 minute continuous and unedited video tape of a whole class discussion
Written commentary of no more than 11 pages
The accompanying instructional materials

Portfolio entry 3:
Same as 3, but you focus the video tape on two different groups of 3-6 students

Portfolio entry 4:
Can start now.
Description and analysis- 20 pages maximum
Documentation –up to 16 pages
Reflective summary- up to 2 pages

Category1:
Teacher’s working with students’ families, community
Use current year

Catrgory 2:
Leacher as leader/collaborator at local, state, and/or National level
Go back multiple years- you want to show a pattern of professional growth and development

Category 3:
Teacher as learner
Go back multiple years- see above
Can go back 5 years

Things that apply:
Having student teachers
Dept. chair
GATE liaison
Tech coach
Conferences attended
Conference speaker
B&N writing
Student cookbook

You need 3-8 accomplishments balanced across the areas.
Try to connect things to student learning

Look at: activity; its significance; Evidence of impact on student learning; documentation
